As we begin the countdown to the Christmas holiday, many families are trying to think of fun activities to keep their children engaged in the holiday spirit at home. Advent calendars are a common option for many, and while the countdown officially began Nov. 29, there’s still time to join in.
Get creative and design an advent calendar to celebrate Christmas season this year in a whole new way. Gather your family to create a homemade advent calendars to count down to the big holiday. Here are a few ideas to get you started.
Traditional Arts and Crafts
Hit up your local craft store to stock up on your basic arts and crafts materials – construction paper, markers or crayons, glitter, stickers, etc. Make sure to let your kids help you pick out their favorite crafting materials as well! If you’re into scrapbooking, some holiday-themed scrapbook paper and stickers can help you create a unique and seasonal calendar.
Use Other Household Materials
Since you will already be spending a good amount of money this holiday season, why not make an advent calendar out of materials you already have in your home?
