As kids grow up, they love accumulating and playing with all their new toys and gadgets. Then they grow older and become fond of video games that seclude them to the indoor confines of their bedrooms all day. Rarely, do we see our children step outside in the beautiful sunny weather and play like we used to. Furthermore, not doing so may start having a negative affect on their health, which is why children should become more active in their lives.
Studies have shown that children who spend more of their time outside playing have developed or will develop better distance vision than those who stay inside all day. Sitting in front of a television or playing video games all day long will actually take a toll on your eyesight and strain it. It’s good for your eyes to go outside, adjust to the sunlight and see new and different things.
Along with their vision, children who go outside and play will learn to promote better social skills. They’ll come across neighbors or kids from down the street who they can start talking to and playing with as well. This will increase the confidence your child has to talk to new people and make new friends. Alongside this comes a reduction in stress. Why is this? Because your children are happy. Children reduce so much stress in their lives when making new friends, and spending time with them doing fun things.
Finally, going outside is a great way to get your children a good source od Vitamin D. It may sound silly at first, but children nowadays are suffering from vitamin D deficiencies, which can lead to developing future bone problems, diabetes or even heart disease. Your children can get a healthy serving of vitamin D through supplements of course, or they can just go outside and receive it from a more natural source; the sun.
